When 24-year-old Laura Coleman found herself working in a Bolivian animal sanctuary while backpacking through South America, her perspective of herself and the world changed.
Coleman is a writer and founder of ONCA, a Brighton-based organization focused on promoting social change through storytelling and the arts.
In The Puma Years, Coleman tells the story of her time at Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi, or CIWY, a sanctuary located on the outskirts of the Amazon jungle.
After deciding to volunteer at the sanctuary on a whim, Coleman developed bonds with the fellow workers and one very special puma, Wayra.
