This book highlights the stories of Somali women and the importance of Somali women's roles within their communities.

Growing up, like many Somali families, I saw the women in my family take on a lot of the responsibilities; in short, they were the glue that held the household together.

Over the years since this project began, the majority of the stories that have been shared were from women. It is with this realization that I decided to document the personal experiences of Somali Women from the region as well as from the Diaspora.
