I found myself overwhelmed by emotion. I thought I could think my way out of it – it turned out I couldn't. So I quit my degree and became a Buddhist monk instead.
Andy Puddicombe, co-founder of Headspace
Introduction
Andy Puddicombe was a sports science student when he suffered a bereavement, and found he didn't have the emotional resources to deal with it.
Puddicombe's search for an answer took him all over the world before ending up in the Himalayas at a Tibetan monastery, where he was ordained as a monk.
On his return to the UK, Puddicombe worked as a mindfulness consultant before teaming up with a partner to start meditation app Headspace.
The series demonstrates eight distinct techniques, explaining how each can be applied to specific situations that occur in most of our lives – from anger and anxiety to acceptance and peace.
Headspace: Guide To Meditation is suitable for anyone with an interest in meditation, from beginner to current practitioner.
