Wong is a Chinese-American disabled activist and researcher with a neuromuscular condition called spinal muscular atrophy.
Wong founded the Disability Visibility Project and edited Disability Visibility, a collection of essays by disabled people.
In October 2020, Dr. Pavithran became the Executive Director of the U.S. Access Board after having been a member since 2012.
As a blind Indian immigrant to the U.S., Pavithran discusses his experiences with racial profiling and violence and his work to support disabled people politically.
