Strengths and weaknesses are simply part of the human experience. However, where neurotypical people are in a system geared towards boosting their strengths and working with their weaknesses, neurodivergent people all too often find ourselves in the opposite position.

Introduction
Neurodivergent people's differences are cognitive, often invisible, and impact how we interpret the world, process information, and interact with others.
Additionally, when someone is neurodivergent, they are often neurodivergent in multiple ways. Many of us have layers to our neurodivergence (or multiple neurotypes).
Someone may be born with brain differences or acquire them later in life, and they may be permanent or temporary.
The more layers of neurodivergence someone has, the further they diverge from what is considered average, and the more support they will need to thrive in systems that were designed by and for the neurotypical 'norm.'
Neurodiversity is all about celebrating, empowering, and accepting the natural differences between human brains, whether it's the differences we're born with or the differences we develop in life.
