Darren Murph

Overview

Darren Murph is a Guinness World Record-holding journalist, author, consultant, investor, GitLab's Head of Remote, and the guy that makes remote working look easier than we thought. As GitLab's Head of Remote he is responsible for the world's largest all-remote company, with over 1,300 team members in 67+ countries with no company-owned offices. If there ever is a face for remote work, it would unavoidably have to be Murph.

In this course, he details how he began his own remote work life and shows us how we can also begin to take control of our lives; one working day at a time. He emphasizes how remote work is actually an opportunity to structure our lives to do more with our time, and how using it as an opportunity to be less productive is a slippery slope to loss of relevancy.

Murph is refreshingly candid and highlights the pros and the cons we should all expect if we decide to work remotely. For Murph, getting started might be a little hard but it will certainly be worth it if we follow the principles he shares in this course.
