Introduction

The Global Resilience Project was born out of Blair Kaplan Venables' realization that sharing her story could help others while healing herself.

It all started when she learned that her father was terminally ill at the end of 2018, and her world felt like it was turned upside down.

By March 2022, as Blair and her sister Alana had almost completed their book, they'd lost both of their parents to terminal illnesses.

From the moment The Global Resilience Project started, Blair had to dive deep into resilience. The stories of those resilient humans that Blair and Alana met on their journey, along with the support of their community, have helped both sisters survive and persevere.

At times, Blair considered abandoning this project. But knowing it would help not only the important people in her life build resilience, but could also have the power to help strangers too, she persevered.
