Success is oftentimes seen as the tapestry of achievements collected, but all of the failures that have shaped the artist inside you are too easily forgotten.

How do we overcome the fear of pending failure, especially in a competitive environment? How can we learn from our failures that drive our success?

Why is failure more important than anything you can achieve? These are some of the questions that we will explore whilst sharing my experiences and stories.

I'm Erika, and I'm a character design and visual development artist working in the animation industry.

Passionate about the mental health of artists, I have attended and paneled in Lightbox, Trojan Horse and others to speak out about tools to help us push past failure.

I have worked with various studios in different countries, on different projects, all the whilst struggling with my own internal conflicts of getting there.

We will be exploring techniques, using anecdotes and practical thinking to lure those negative thoughts away from the word 'failure' and see it as it really is — success in not giving up.
