Introduction

The world of ultrarunning is becoming appealing to more and more people. The opportunity to challenge our physical and mental capabilities is on full display when humans shoot for distances beyond the marathon.

In 20+ years of calling myself a runner, I have run over 100 ultramarathons around the world and won more than half of them. I have coached runners of all abilities for 13 years.

I have race directed the Chuckanut 50k in Bellingham, Washington, for 21 years. I wrote a book with complete training plans, tips, and motivations, which was published in 2015, with the second edition released in 2022.

Some people cannot fathom driving their car 100 miles, but if you're curious to try running that distance, I believe you can — I would love to support you along the way.
