Rise Up is the story of British rapper Stormzy's ascent to the pinnacle of the British music industry, in the words of the grime musician himself and his inner circle of long-term friends and collaborators.

In the span of five years and just one album, Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. went from being a niche south London grime MC to a headliner at Glastonbury Festival.

How did Stormzy achieve so much, so fast? Rise Up details the answers, pieced together from interviews with Stormzy and his team, #Merky.

Rise Up is the result of 13 interviews conducted over two months by editor Jude Blay Yawson.

Interviewees include music producer Fraser T. Smith, tour manager Trevor A. Williams, and the head of Spotify UK's editorial team, Austin Daboh.

The book also features lyrics, previously unpublished photographs, and a timeline of Stormzy's career.

The book seeks to underline the philosophy that underpins all his endeavors – another strand to the #Merky name.
