Up Hack
Realistic, Sustainable Trauma RecoveryBy Dr. Glenn Patrick Doyle

In a Nutshell

Trauma recovery is historically mired in theory and philosophy that has little to do with everyday functioning. To realistically function out in the world, survivors need to design and live a recovery lifestyle that actually works for THEM.

Screw 'perfect' and screw 'pretty.' This is about your real-world survival and stability, not 'their' expectations.

Introduction

There are dozens of theories, approaches, and philosophies for recovering from trauma. Survivors of abuse and neglect are often inundated with contradictory input about how they 'should' manage their symptoms and process their past.

But none of those theories, approaches, and philosophies mean ANYTHING unless they realistically, measurably help survivors navigate their recovery in their actual day-to-day lives, relationships, and jobs.

I'm Dr. Glenn Patrick Doyle, a clinical psychologist who has been working with trauma survivors my whole career, and I am also a survivor working on my own recovery from trauma and addiction.

The ideas I share about trauma recovery aren't 'my' special ideas; they focus on the real-world skills, tools, and mindset EVERY survivor needs to practically navigate the day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute experience and aftermath of traumatic stress.
