Overview

It's one of the world's oldest businesses you rarely hear about. Established 700 years ago, the Duchy of Cornwall generates a £21 million profit each year and provides funding for the Royal Family, making it a crucial business to the country. Stretching over 23 counties in England and Wales with over 130,000 acres of land and 160 miles of coastline, the Duchy encompasses ancient castles and national parks along with visionary new towns and even parts of London.

Charlie Clay is a documentary film director whose previous work includes programs like Passport to the Sun and Lads Army. Made to celebrate Prince Charles's 50 years as head of the Duchy of Cornwall, this documentary chronicles how he has shaped the business and prepared it to be taken over by his son, Prince William.
