In a Nutshell

In this December 2021 solo episode of the Cheaper Than Therapy podcast, we explore the shadow elements of being raised as women in a wounded patriarchal system.

We’re constantly exploring The Mother Wound... it’s what patriarchy does to women and what of that is passed down generationally, mother to daughter. A lot of self-hatred and self-judgment and putting ourselves into boxes of who we think we need to be.

Introduction

We’re Vanessa Bennett, LMFT, and Dené Logan, AMFT. Two soul sisters and therapists with a background in depth psychology. But, more than anything else, we’re passionate about supporting others in living their most authentic life.

In this episode of our Cheaper than Therapy podcast, we address the differentiation between ‘wounded’ and ‘healthy' feminine energetics and the challenge of confronting some of our subconscious programming while attempting to be present in relationships.

We also discuss how working as therapists has given insight into where we’ve previously missed the mark in our perception of the inner world of men.

It’s not about 'I can’t do these things' but about 'I love you enough to give you space to do things I know make you feel good as a man,' even though that’s not how we’re raised to think and be.
