Introduction

Most people do not think of watching films as a skill-building exercise. But films are an escape from real life, making them a powerful tool for developing mindfulness.

Into Film is a charity that champions film in education. In this course, they've partnered with the Mental Health Foundation to demonstrate how film can support emotional learning and wellbeing.

Mindfulness Through Film shows educators how to help young people develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and self-regulation through mindfulness.

After discovering the benefits and key principles of mindfulness, we learn why film is an excellent medium through which to teach them.

We find out how to apply mindful activities to film watching, and methods to support young people in continuing their development through filmmaking.
