Body positivity is a social movement that has its origins in the fat acceptance movement of the 1960s.
This movement challenges the beauty standards we see in the media as an undesirable social construct.
The body-positive movement seeks to show how unhealthy (mentally and physically) it is for us to try to achieve these unrealistic goals.
The conversation online is often focused on women. However, studies show that men also suffer from the pressure of society's beauty standards. Boys and men need support, too.
