I’ve been trying to figure out gardening for about 15 years. I have my successes but it can be hit and miss. I’ve been following Charles for a few months and suddenly it all makes sense.
Alex Hunt, user of the no-dig method
Introduction
With no-dig gardening, your ground is always ready to receive new plantings. During the season, there is no need for soil preparation, which happens the previous autumn or winter, or very early spring.
Because your soil is in such good health, you also do not need to worry about plant rotation.
No dig frees you up to fill all the spaces that appear during summer and early autumn with new vegetables of any kind.
You also do not need to spread new compost before planting in summer, nor to feed or fertilise plants.
