Making comics about your experience can be life-affirming, therapeutic, and surprisingly simple. You don't need a particularly exciting or funny story to be able to write comics that come from your own life.

I started making comics several years ago when my kids were very young. I was itching to start drawing again after a long break from art-making. I started small, drawing for only ten minutes each day when the kids were napping.

Eventually, I started drawing a bit more and created visual stories based on the day's activities. I shared these stories on Instagram and found out that I wasn't so alone in my experience. My so-called boring life was filled with moments of magic.

I encourage everyone to try their hand at making daily comics as a way of discovering the beauty in their everyday experience. With comics, the drawings need not be perfect and the writing can be sparse. It's merely the practice that matters.
