Overview

You already know that what you eat affects your physical health, but did you know that your diet can have a profound effect on your mental health as well? In recent years, more and more research has emerged showing the connection between our diet and brain health.

The Food and Mood Centre at Deakin University is an Australian research center that studies the complex connection between nutrition and brain health. The Food and Mood Centre is led by Professor Felice Jacka, the founder and president of the International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research (or ISNPR.)

The Food and Mood course is led by Jacka and Dr. Tetyana Rocks, Head of Translation and Education at the Food & Mood Centre. It explores the meaning of mental health and how the food we eat can influence it, highlighting the kind of foods we should eat to support positive mental health.

"We used to think about it like the brain and the body as being separate. But we now understand that we're one tightly integrated, very, very complex system."
