The right whale is an extraordinary creature. It's really one of the wonders of the living world. But if something in our management doesn't change, the direction of the population points to zero.

Introduction
North Atlantic right whales are huge.
Despite being around 60 tons and 15 meters long, right whales are hard to spot in the ocean because there are so few of them: They are one of the most endangered species on the planet.
From the makers of Sacred Cod and Lobster War, this Andy Laub and David Abe documentary outlines the problem facing right whales: humans.
They have survived being hunted for over 1,000 years, but with less than 400 alive today, right whales could go extinct within 20 years. They would become the first large whale in modern history to do so.
2021's Entangled sets out the complex nature of potential right whale extinction and outlines various attempts to save the species from being wiped out for good.
