Overview

It can be very easy to fall into patterns of hating your job. You may feel as though there is no free time in your day, your week, or your entire life, or struggle to deal with your emotions while at work. Perhaps you find it hard to connect with your colleagues. Fortunately, there are many ways of making your work a more comfortable environment.

Dr. Laurie Santos is a prize-winning scientist and professor of psychology at Yale University. Dan Harris is a podcast host and former ABC News journalist. He quit his job at ABC after realizing that he was effectively working seven days a week, without any time to switch off.

In this November 2021 episode of the Happiness Lab podcast, Santos and Harris dive into the psychology behind why many of us feel unhappy at work, analyzing the fallacies and very real problems that manifest as a result of our jobs.
