I'm a 47-year-old dad of five. What business do I have on social media? Cooking on Youtube? Making TikToks? Not a normal path for income for people my age, but it is possible. I will share the steps I took to get here.

How did I become a cooking content creator? My oldest son was in a digital filming class in high school, with dreams of going to film school for college. My brilliant idea was to have my son film me doing a couple of cooks for YouTube.

We did a few videos together, but my son got too busy, and I was left with a YouTube channel and no clue how to do anything. But I felt this insane urge to keep creating and sharing my recipes.

This left me in a spot where I had to learn all aspects of producing videos. So, I headed to YouTube and began to learn about filming, editing, lighting, and sound. From this study, my videos improved through the years.

Creating on YouTube has helped me branch out to all social media. I post my pictures and videos all over Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. I've amassed 200,000 followers between YouTube, social media, groups, and communities.

Doing this one little project with my son has led to so many social and financial opportunities. In this Hack, I will share some of the key practices I've learned on my journey.
