Biology impacts everyone and everything on Earth.

From individuals to larger ecosystems – even the planet itself – biological processes are responsible for giving and sustaining life, as well as shaping the ways we think and look toward the future.

In this course, a team of educators from the University of York led by biology professor Rachel Hope give a broad yet in-depth overview of basic biological terms and processes, providing real-life examples to illustrate the impact of biology on our species.

A basic understanding of biology can give a clearer picture of the world, a deeper appreciation for science, and a sense that we are all inextricably connected.
