Introduction
The death of a child is considered one of life's most devastating losses.
After her five-year-old son Jason died, Judy Unger coped by surrounding herself with others who understood her pain. ![Jason and his mom](. Jason and his mom.jpg)
Early on in her bereavement, she became a group leader with the Compassionate Friends organization. Helping others gave her comfort.
Judy considered herself a survivor of grief, but one day she did more than just survive — she found joy again.
Almost two decades after Jason's death, Judy opened her heart to write the story of her grief. That led her to heal, and not long after that, she rediscovered the music she used to love.
Currently, Judy creates music that embodies her love for Jason and offers hope to those suffering with grief.
