Introduction
The World Health Organisation – the UN agency tackling global public health challenges – estimates that air pollution kills 8.5 million people per year worldwide.
In the U.S. alone, a 2010 MIT study concluded that 53,000 people died every year because of tailpipe emissions from cars alone — nearly double the amount of road casualties!
Beyond the trillions of dollars lost by world economies each year in productivity losses and health burdens, pollution has a staggering environmental and human cost.
We believe knowledge is power. That's why we think that the key to solving this problem is universal access to personal, actionable air quality information.
When you can understand and measure something, it's possible to find solutions — even to the most complex problems.
