Introduction
Nirmal Purja is no ordinary mountaineer.
Although born in Nepal, Purja didn't set foot on a mountain until 2012, aged 29 — but soon discovered he was unusually well adapted to the physical and mental challenge of high-altitude ascents.
Frustrated by always being part of a foreign-led expedition, Purja hatched the plan of conquering all 14 tallest peaks in record time with an all-Nepali team.
When he was told his plan was impossible, Purja promptly named it Project Possible — a clue to his indomitable character.
Directed by Torquil Jones, whose previous films include The Edge and Bobby Robson: More than a Manager, this documentary takes us back to Purja's family home and time with the British Army before accompanying him to all 14 peaks.
