UPTIME CONTENT POLICIES
Uptime endeavors to serve content to our users that is purposeful, accurate, and does not promote hate, violence, harassment, or any other dangerous or violent activity. Uptime’s Hack Policies (“Policies”) are incorporated herein and form part of Uptime’s rules and requirements, which include Uptime’s Terms and Conditions, Uptime’s Hack Creator Terms, Privacy Policy, Hack Policies and all other policies that Uptime has or may adopt concerning published content (collectively, the “Uptime Terms”). Creators are required to comply with all aspects of the Uptime Terms.
OVERALL REQUIREMENTS
To maintain the integrity and authenticity of the Uptime App, we require that all Creators must:
- Be respectful and always respect the dignity of others;
- Always give proper credit for the work of others, and make sure you have the right to use all materials before you publish a Hack;
- Never post information or photos about individuals without their consent, as doing so can constitute an invasion of privacy laws,
- Never participate in cyber bullying of any kind; and
- Never post prohibited content, as further set forth below.
PROHIBITED CONTENT
The following types of content are explicitly prohibited and any such posting will cause Uptime to immediately remove the offending content and possibly suspend the Creator. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and Uptime may remove any Hacks, collections or other materials and/or suspend a Creator for any reason in Uptime’s sole discretion.
- Graphic and violent content – Uptime does not allow content that incites or glorifies violence, including extremely graphic or violent content for the sake of offending others.
- Hateful content – Uptime does not allow content that promotes violence or harassment against an individual or group based on ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Dangerous and illegal activities – Uptime does not allow content that promotes or facilitates dangerous and illegal activities such as self-harm (e.g., self-mutilation, eating disorders, or drug abuse, etc.), or content that is being used to threaten, organize or incite violence, or support violent organizations.
- Exploitation – Uptime does not allow content that exploits or contributes to the exploitation of children (including sexual exploitation of children through depictions of abuse or nudity of children), or the sexual exploitation of adults.
- Fraud/Spam/Commercial Misuse – Creators are not permitted to use the Uptime App to promote fraud, spread spam or for any type of commercial misuse. Any deceptive conduct by a Creator is grounds for suspension of the Creator’s privileges on the Uptime App.
- Content that Infringes Intellectual Property or Third Party Rights – Creators are barred from using materials that infringe or misappropriate, facilitate, or induce the infringement or misappropriation of, any copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent or any other intellectual property or proprietary, privacy, or personality right.
- Malicious Software – Creators may not include any text that contains, instals, links to, or prompts the download of any software containing questionable security, malware, spyware, adware, a Trojan horse, viruses or other harmful or deleterious software routines.
- Violation of the Purpose and Spirit of Uptime – The Uptime App is intended to foster a sense of community and to give subscribers access to educational materials. Creators may not attempt to undermine these ideals.
PLEASE TAKE THESE POLICIES SERIOUSLY
If a Creator violates any of these Policies, Uptime may respond based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the egregiousness of the Creator’s actions and whether a pattern of harmful behaviour exists. DEPENDING ON THESE FACTORS, UPTIME’S RESPONSE MAY RANGE FROM SUSPENDING A CREATOR’S PRIVILEGES TO A PERMANENT BAN.
