We have to coexist with one another and live on this land together.

Jamel Qassas, Palestinian Combatant for Peace

In 2006, a small group of former Israeli soldiers packed into a car and crossed the heavily guarded border in Palestine for the first time as civilians. Where they had once brought violence, the ex-soldiers were now on a mission to bring understanding. Today, Combatants for Peace is an NGO comprised of former Israeli and Palestinian soldiers calling for an end to Israeli occupation and all forms of violence. Through both political and humanitarian work, the group seeks to offer hope in a conflict that seems hopeless.

Filmmakers Stephen Apkon and Andrew Young are both known for their documentaries on social and environmental issues, having worked on films like Fantastic Fungi and Backyard Wilderness. In this gripping film, ground-level footage and interviews with key members of Combatants for Peace bring the struggle for peace in Palestine to the public eye.
